Caterina is an Italian dancer, currently based in London (UK). Her love for dancing started when she was 14, but she only found Lindy Hop when she moved to the Netherlands in 2013. Solo Jazz and Lindy Hop are her favourite dance styles.
While living in the Netherlands, Caterina took part in the foundation of Swing Out Maastricht. After moving to the UK, she started teaching regular Solo Jazz and Lindy Hop first in Bristol and then in London, where she is currently based. Caterina started to regularly teach in UK-based festivals in 2019. She keeps traveling around Europe to learn from international instructors, teach and take part in competitions.
Caterina strongly believes in the value of training, not only to improve one’s dancing skills, but, most importantly, to increase one’s body and music awareness. She encourages her students to find balance between challenge and acceptance, prioritizing the appreciation for the learning process. Her solo jazz classes are very energetic, with plenty of dancing time for to figure out and memorize the steps. In class, Caterina loves to make time for watching vintage videos and talk about the origins of Vernacular Jazz.
